Las Vegas is more than casinos. This hub collects our guides to sightseeing, day trips and activities, all fact-checked against official sources with a “last checked” date.
Day trips: the Grand Canyon
The closest part of the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas is Grand Canyon West, on Hualapai tribal land. Its official site says it’s about a two-hour drive or a 30-minute helicopter flight, and it’s home to the glass Skywalk. The South Rim, inside Grand Canyon National Park, is 278 miles away by road, per the National Park Service, so many visitors fly or stay overnight. Only the West Rim side offers helicopter landings inside the canyon.
On the Strip and Downtown
- Free: the Fountains of Bellagio, the Bellagio Conservatory, and Fremont Street’s Viva Vision light shows.
- Ticketed: Sphere, the High Roller, the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum.
Shows and pools
Long-running Cirque du Soleil shows, Absinthe and The Wizard of Oz at Sphere fill the evenings. From spring to fall, dayclubs like Encore Beach Club and Marquee host pool parties.
